The Albany Theatre has secured Big Lottery Funding!
After the success of the first ever Spon Spun Festival in May 2016, the Albany Theatre has been successful in securing funding from the Big Lottery through their Awards for All programme to contribute to the next Spon Spun Festival in September 2017!
The funding will help to pay for training and development for volunteers who will help to deliver the festival in September. As well as that, five workshops are planned to take place in public spaces around Spon End that will be free and open to anyone who wants to join in. We'll also be looking for a Project and Volunteer Coordinator to oversee and organise all of these activities.
If you are a resident of Spon End or work in the area and would be interested in getting involved then we have also received funding from the local Police to hold a series of community meetings. The next one of these will be on Tuesday 28th February, 6pm at Holyhead Studios on Lower Holyhead Road, come along to hear our ideas and share yours.
We will also be looking for further funding to pay for a creative strand to the programme. Watch this space for more information!
