It’s a chance to sing-along to your favourite songs and to sit back and hear newly-formed workplace choirs from Coventry sing hits like Happy and Viva La Vida.
Armonico Consort’s four new Workplace Choirs in the public sector have been meeting weekly since the summer, at Coventry City Council, Coventry University, University of Warwick and University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire, singing their hearts out for the first time together.
Supported by Coventry City of Culture’s Great Place Scheme, funded by Heritage Lottery Fund and Arts Council England, singing is a wonderful activity for healthy living and a great way to get to know a work colleague from another department. Some of the songs the choirs are learning have a link to Coventry which builds pride of place and proves that you don’t have to be a football fan to sing about the city you live in.
Workplace choirs are a superb way to promote well-being, reduce stress and boost productivity among staff, and have fun doing it!
Professional choir Armonico Consort, who have been leading The Voice Squad choirs, have launched a programme of half day workshops specially designed for businesses and organisations to engage their staff. Absolutely no musical experience is necessary and they can tailor sessions from 10 to 300 people.
