Sandra Godley and Michelle John - two heart stopping voices - and hosted by our own Midlands media star Trish Adudu, Black History Month ignites at The Albany on October 1st with music, drama and film.
Sandra Godley - MOBO nominated, award winning Singer/Songwriter, is widely known as one of the country’s leading soul/gospel singers.
Michelle John is an established artist, who has worked with the likes of Eric Clapton and Ed Sheeran, Razorlight, Girls Aloud, Westlife and Rita Ora. Most recently she has been on a World Tour with Joss Stone, and many viewers will have seen her perform as The Voice UK 2017 finalist.
To be accompanied by a short documentary film made by young people in Coventry, who tell some of the stories of their parents and grandparents, and their journeys and experiences from the Caribbean and Africa, giving their perspective of what it was like to arrive in the UK as a migrant in the 1950’s.
