Chinese Lunar New Year is the most important and most festive traditional festival for all Chinese in the world. In this day of reunion overseas Chinese students have gathered together to celebrate the spring festival and this has become the most expected event of the New Year. Chinese students and scholars (including compatriots) as well as Chinese residents, British friends, and representatives of all parties in the Coventry area in the UK are cordially invited to celebrate the Spring Festival and create a warm and festive atmosphere for Chinese reunions.
This year, as the request of the Education Department of the Chinese Embassy in the UK, the Office of Chinese Language Council International and Coventry University Students’ Union, for the first time, they will jointly hold the 2018 Chinese Spring Festival Activities with the Confucius Institute at Coventry University and the Chinese Society at Coventry University. Its main goal is to promote the dissemination of traditional Chinese culture and the Chinese New Year culture and to create a New Year's atmosphere for all Chinese overseas students in Coventry.
The Chinese New Year Spring Gala will include performances from AcroRock Dance School, Songs from the Voice of Coventry winners, Fork Dances, Comic skits, Modern dance, and musical performances of the Urhu.
