It is 2018, and the world is divided: Humans vs. Cyborgs. Cyber is now the essence of this new world.
In the midst of this instability and chaos, Malaysia struggles with one question: Should the country embrace a new transcendant age of technology or preserve its humanity?
Refusing to accept their new lives, 8 Malaysians currently living in the UK with different stories and backgrounds have banded together for one purpose: to go home. With the present chaotic and the future uncertain, the characters question whether they can retain their culture and traditions in a world that embraces a new global consciousness of cyber technology over humanity. Can Malaysian culture retain its value and remain as wholly 'Malaysian'?
This is where their journey begins.
Warwick Malaysian Night 2018 brings to you its all-original production, ID: Journey of Discovery, a piece that explores themes of discrimination, inequality, identity and culture.
With originally-produced scores, soundtrack and choreography, this unique Malaysian musical invites you on a spirited journey brimming with traditional and modern performances that showcases the unique blend of past and future within the Malaysian culture.
So step into this new cybernetic world and follow the characters on their journey of hope, heartbreak, and loss: Can they set their differences aside and find their way back home or will something much more sinister be waiting for them?
