The first official event of the Albany Picture House is over, and what a brillient start it was! The Foyer was transformed into a ve-day style celebration with picnic tables, cakes and tea, accompanied by some gentle swing music. That was nothing compared to the smooth tones of our wonderful volunteer, Richard, who sang live for the lucky audience who enjoyed every second.
We asked everyone who came to the event to fill in a quick evaluation form about how they thought the first event went. We're thrilled to say that everyone's feedback positive; in fact, 100% replied saying that the Albany Theatre as a venue was good or excellent! We're very proud of everything we've achieved since the Theatre reopened in 2013, and we're only going to continue to grow. Other comments include, "solid value, lovely theatre" and "historical building with beautiful artitecture".
You'll be excited to hear that soon we'll be introducing an Albany Picture House Membership scheme. While the details are yet to be decided, for a small annual fee, you'll be granted acces to priority booking, an exclusive 6 for 5 discount and the ability to have a say in future Picture House showings in 2017.
Coming up next is the Life of Pi on the 21st August. There will also be faint painting in the foyer, and photos to be taken at our jungle themed photobooth. Beyond that we have the World Cinema Festival, featuring 9 films from all across the globe! What's not to like?
