We are very excited to announce auditions for our community panto coming this Christmas, Sleeping Beauty! We’re looking for talented actors, singers and dancers from across Coventry and Warwickshire who are ready to be stars, whether you’re a panto veteran or a new performer, we can’t wait to see you shine!
Principal Cast Auditions
DATE: Thursday 18th July 2024
TIME: Audition slots will be given out from 6:30pm onwards
LOCATION: The Albany Theatre, Albany Road, Coventry, CV5 6JQ
Principal Roles…
Nurse Nora – A nursemaid. The traditional pantomime Dame. Should exude warmth and comedy and some pathos.
King Cuthbert– The ruler of the realm. Father to the Princess Rose. A bumbler with his heart in the right place. Part of a double act with the Queen.
Queen Hermione– Wife to the King Cuthbert and mother to the Princess Rose. Part of a double act with the King.
Lazy Larry– Chief Page at the castle but really wants to be an inventor. Comic. Good ability to ‘connect’ with the audience. Often confused about things, performing plenty of physical comedy.
Princess Rose– Our Sleeping Beauty. Young and fierce. Ready to explore the world. Yearning for adventure and isn’t too interested in love.
Fairy Rainbow– A magical fairy on the side of good, warm and welcoming. Needs a good rapport with the audience.
Carabosse– The Villain an Evil Fairy or Wizard. Able to work well with the audience, to encourage boos and hisses.
Prince Lorenzo– A kind prince, who is brave, generous and charming.
Trainee Fairies, Villagers, Royal Pages, etc to be confirmed.

Please note that all principals must be 16+ and in school Year 12 or above.
Rehearsals for lead cast will take place on Wednesday evenings and occasional Sunday daytimes (2.30-5.30pm) between September -December. Further rehearsals may be added in the lead up to the pantomime show dates.
Junior Chorus and Dancer Ensemble Auditions
DATE: Sunday 15th September 2024 (NEW DATE)
Ages 9-12 (must be age 9 by 1st September 2024) – Registration from 9am
Ages 13-16 (up to school year 11) – Registration from 12pm
Ages 16+ (from school year 12) – Registration from 3pm
LOCATION: The Albany Theatre, Albany Road, Coventry, CV5 6JQ

Please register in the foyer at the main entrance to the theatre. Parents must stay on site for the whole audition. For the junior chorus there will be two teams chosen to be part of the show, each containing 25 children.
Show dates are Saturday 4th January – Sunday 12th January (you must be available for the full run).
Rehearsals for Junior Chorus members will take place on Sunday daytimes (from 2.30-5.30pm) and occasional Wednesday evenings between September – December. Further rehearsals may be added in the lead up to the pantomime show dates.
