An emotive dance theatre show that reveals the hidden histories of Black British soldiers.

Pushing the boundaries of form, The Unknown Soldier reveals the untold stories of the young Black servicemen and women who contributed to the British war efforts during World War I and World War II.

Presented by Alison Ray Dance Company, this one-hour show + Post Show Q&A explores the personal stories of the brave men and women of Black British heritage and the part they played in Britain’s successful war effort.

Told through a variety of dance styles including Lindy Hop, African, Caribbean, Hip Hop and contemporary dance, this emotive dance theatre show weaves together visuals and live music to bring the narrative to life, offering a compelling tribute to Black British War Veterans.

All companion/carer tickets must be booked through Box Office via phone or in person.

The Box Office is open Monday to Saturday from 10:30am to 1:30pm, and an hour before performances start. Outside these opening hours, messages can be left on our voicemail. See our Terms and Conditions for Ticket Sales.

Wheelchair designated spaces are available at the rear of the auditorium and are available by contacting the Box Office. Patrons who wouldn’t be able to attend the theatre without accompaniment are eligible for one free companion ticket, these also can only be booked via Box Office. Performances with an age guidance of all ages offer Babe in Arms tickets for children aged 0-18 months free of charge and Lap Tickets for children aged 18-36 months for £3.00. These can be booked through our Box Office. We also have a limited number of Booster Seats available for £1 which can be rented at the kiosk.
