Billy J Kramer and Mike Read
Tuesday 29th April 2025

“Billy is one of the few people who actually knew The Beatles, when they were The Beatles”

In 1963, Billy was the first person to have a hit record with a Lennon-McCartney song, “Do You Want To Know A Secret” which was written especially for him by John and Paul and recorded with George Martin at Abbey Road Studios even before The Beatles recorded it themselves.

“Bad To Me” and “Little Children” released as a double sided single. They have the unique distinction of being the highest entry into the Billboard charts at #8. That accomplishment has never been equalled.

To commemorate his 50th anniversary in music… Billy recorded and released new material “I Won The Fight”.

The song “Liverpool with Love” was instrumental in finally getting Brian Epstein inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame. He has also recently released his autobiography titled “Do You Want To Know A Secret”.

Billy J Kramer’s international momentum has lasted through the years, and he continues to record and perform. Billy toured extensively throughout the UK as the opening act for The Beatles both before and during Beatlemania. Billy also headlined tours with such greats as Del Shannon, Gene Pitney, and The Everly Brothers.

Dancing in the Auditorium

Whilst we know our audiences love to get up and dance when they come to see live bands and tribute acts at the Albany Theatre, we do ask that you please be considerate of those around you and be aware this may obstruct the view for other patrons. Please do not dance in or block the aisles.

For those patrons who want to remain seated we recommend that they book their seats from row E, or in the Balcony (where the balcony is on sale), where dancing is prohibited due to the rake of the seats making it unsafe.

Please note that the access to the Balcony area is via stairs only and there is no lift access to the Balcony seating area.

See Getting Here for more information on how to find us.
