The Albany Theatre, Coventry is deepening its pool of Creative Facilitators and Workshop Leaders

Thanks to funding from Coventry City Council, The Albany has completed a major capital programme, creating two new Studio Theatres and three multi-use spaces as well as our historic main auditorium. Now we have got the spaces, we want people to use them! So, we are commissioning a range of multi-artform participatory workshops, from taster sessions to longer programmes culminating in performance opportunities, aimed at establishing the Albany as a new creative hub for Coventry.
We know there is a wealth of talent in the area – it has often been overlooked in the past. We are looking for artists experienced in delivering workshops and generating artistic outcomes across various disciplines — theatre, music, creative writing, visual arts, digital media – please tell us what you can offer!
Our new team will be working with a wide range of ages and abilities, from complete novices to experienced professionals. We are offering freelance engagements, with pay dependent on experience. In building this new database of talent, to start with we are looking for people to help us deliver Engage – Inspire – Create 2025.
Supported by public funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England, Engage – Inspire – Create 2025 will immediately draw on the talent we attract.
Through a dynamic mix of participatory workshops, performances, and creative experiences, we are opening the doors to the arts for everyone.
From community-driven co-productions to emerging and established artists, we will showcase the talent, voices, and creativity that make our community shine, and lay the foundations for long-term community involvement.
If you are as excited by this as we are, you will want to be a part of our growing team of collaborators.
The centrepiece of Engage – Inspire – Create 2025 is a two-day Festival Weekend in June, showcasing work developed and developing through the programme. This celebratory event will present performances by community participants, emerging artists, and established professionals, and work in progress, strengthening our creative partnerships with the aim of laying strong foundations for long-lasting community engagement with the Arts at The Albany.
