February Job Opportunities - now closed to applications

Two new key roles

The Albany Theatre Trust’s vision is “to promote well-being through Arts for Life”. This vision, backed by rigorous and prudent financial and organisation management, has recently gained the endorsement of Coventry City Council. The Trust now has the opportunity to re-develop the theatre and create new facilities, including a studio theatre, in an additional 10,500 square feet of newly acquired space.

The Trust is not embarking on this new development in isolation. Arts for Life is set against the background of Coventry’s emerging ten year arts strategy, and the City’s bid to become UK City of Culture in 2021.

Operations Manager

The Operations Manager is responsible, with the Technical Manager, for all appropriate and necessary tasks to ensure the safe, effective and smooth day-to-day running of the Albany Theatre. We are looking for a person who has the experience, confidence and ability to organise and manage our growing operation. The successful candidate must be willing and able to work with a diverse volunteer team. Strong commercial skills are essential.

Whilst relevant experience and a track record of success are essential, it is most important that we appoint the right person. The successful candidate will be an ambitious, competent, multi-skilled, resilient and well-organised manager with entrepreneurial flair and demonstrable experience. A passionate commitment to the Albany Theatre’s Arts for Life vision is essential. The Albany is a dynamic, challenging environment and this is the start of an exciting cultural development. This is a key role that offers a significant career opportunity to that right person.

Arts for Life Coordinator

This is a pivotal new role at a critical and exciting time in the Albany Theatre Trust’s development. The job is to coordinate, support and at times manage the work of steering, stakeholder and fundraising groups to achieve outcomes that meet or exceed targets for the development of the new space and redevelopment of the theatre.

The successful candidate will support the Arts for Life programme and will make a major contribution to our work and development, ideally by offering expertise in some or all of the following areas: marketing and PR; event and/or project management; outreach work: programme implementation; fundraising and theatre administration.

Whilst experience is valued and important, it is most important that we appoint the right person. The successful candidate will be multi-talented with demonstrable experience. There is always a lot to do, so willing flexibility and a passionate commitment to the Albany Theatre’s vision is essential. This is a unique opportunity to join our team at the start of an exciting cultural development. The Albany is a dynamic, challenging environment. As a career move, for the right candidate, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a mark.
