Rio (2011)

Thursday 23 February 2017, 2.30pm - Half Term Films!

Blu is a flightless macaw who was taken from the forests of Rio de Janeiro as a young bird and raised by a kind girl in a small town. When an ornithologist informs Blu's owner Linda that Blu is the last male of his species, they return to Rio so that Blu can mate with a feisty female named Jewel. Thus begins an adventure in which Blu encounters everything from the complexities of courtship and love, to thugs involved in an exotic animal theft ring, strange new friendships and a crazy ride through a carnival parade.

Combining beautiful animation, sizzling Brazilian music and an all star cast including Jesse Eisenberg, Anne Hathaway and Jamie Foxx, Rio is a treat for the whole family.

“For its stunning iridescent look and infectious music, Rio is a refreshing adventure worth taking.” - USA Today
