A Nightmare before Christmas
Sunday 15th December 2024

There’s nothing better than a Victorian horror story at Christmas, sitting around the fire with your loved ones.

This Yuletide, join crime historian Adam Wood for some real-life fearful festive tales, such as the man whose present for his daughter on Christmas Morning was a knife across her throat; the old lady found dead, head-first down a hole in the floorboards, attempting to retrieve a secreted bottle of Yuletide spirit; and the young girl who burnt herself to death looking up the chimney for Father Christmas.

And that’s not to mention the day Santa fell in love with the wife of a German army officer, so shot his rival dead after delivering presents to their children.
