Mick Bisiker – Flatpick Guitar
CV Folk Freshers Workshop
Saturday March 1st offers two chances to gain and develop your music-making and performance skills under the guidance of leading musicians and performers from the local folk circuit.
Both are 2-hour sessions presented by CVFolk in the Albany Theatre’s Clive Benfield Studio. The morning workshop is hosted by the acclaimed and talented multi-instrumentalist, Mick Bisiker who’ll be giving advice on the art of flatpick guitar.
Founder of the popular concert and ceilidh band, Rack and Ruin, Mick’s wide repertoire ranges from traditional to self-penned songs and tunes, and he is especially noted for his fast arrangements of traditional folk session tunes played on acoustic guitar, mandola and bouzouki.
An experienced music teacher, Mick shares expertise built up over many years on this exciting and foot-tapping style of guitar-playing. All age groups welcome, especially younger, future star performers of folk and acoustic music! Some basic guitar experience is needed and you’ll be amazed how much you can learn in a fun and friendly environment.
Admission is £8 or £5 concessions, including students and pensioners. Book in advance or pay on arrival, and don’t forget to bring your guitars and flatpicks!
