CVFolk presents popular trio Scarecrow in the Albany Theatre Studio
Versatile and widely acclaimed folk trio, Scarecrow are November’s main guests for CVFolk’s ‘2nd Sunday’ event on Sunday, 10th November,
Based in Oxfordshire, and active across the Midlands folk club and concert circuit, their diverse repertoire draws on the classical music of Rey Lear, the folk tune repertoire of David Moore, and the jazz and blues influences from Gordon Raitt.
Singing and playing everything from guitar to recorders, electric bass to bouzouki, flute to bagpipes and all manner of percussion, the line-up started out as members of a well-established folk-dance band in 2006 and their distinctive and ‘straw-some’ Scarecrow sound has been delighting audiences ever since,
The free-admission evening also features supporting artists from the local folk circuit, including talented guitarist, accordion-player and singer, Campbell Perry.
The music starts at 7.30pm – please give generously to the jug collection during the interval.
