In the middle of World War Two the British were desperate to strike at the industrial heart of Nazi Germany. Enter Dr Barnes Wallis (Michael Redgrave), whose 'Bouncing Bombs' are greeted with scepticism by many in the British government. Wallis teams up with RAF Wing Commander Guy Gibson (Richard Todd) to prove the bomb's worth and lead a squadron of plucky pilots in a daring mission into the enemy’s heartland.
