The Albany Studio
Coventry's own Night Project Theatre bring their production of The Hired Man to the brand-new Albany Studio, following a hugely successful run in Birmingham.
Set in Cumbria at the turn of the last century, Melvyn Bragg’s 'The Hired Man' was the first book in a powerful saga of John Tallentire, and his wife Emily. John’s struggle to break free from the humiliating status of a ‘hired man’ is the theme of a novel, which is at once as romantic as it is political, and as filled with pathos and struggle as it is history and gritty realism.
Howard Goodall’s 1984, award winning musical, following the Tallentires’ story with soaring melodies and an evocative choral style, is presented in an intimate setting with an intensity that will take your breath away.
Book tickets now to enjoy one of the most beautiful English musical scores of the modern era.
