It’s nearly time for Easter and Spring is definitely in the air! We’ve got lots of exciting new shows, including a great Easter holidays line-up for the little ones as well as plenty for the adults too. We hope to see you at the theatre this month!
Family Treats…
Starting off the month for our family shows, we’ve got Princess and the Frog, a charming ballet fairytale. Introduce your little ones to the magical world of ballet in this lovely!
Then it’s time for the Easter holidays and we’ve got some great shows lined up to keep you busy. First we’ve got The Baddies, a musical adaptation of the Julia Donaldson book, full of toe-tapping songs and child-friendly spooks and scares. Next up is another adaptation, this time of Quentin Blakes Angelica Sprockets Pockets, with live music, lots of audience interaction and incredible puppetry! Rounding out our holidays offering is Farm Boy, adapted from the Michael Morpurgo novel, this is a critically acclaimed sequel to War Horse.
Classic Music…
For music lovers, we’ve got some classic oldies to kick of April with the matinee club Swinging Sixties starring Nick Duncan! Next up is the Meatloaf tribute Paradise Found playing all of the iconic tunes such as Bat Out of Hell and I Would Do Anything for Love.
Hilarious Comedy…
Prepare to laugh in Menopause the Musical 2, the sequel to the smash hit comedy show and starring four hilarious women as they navigate the menopause. Then the local improv comedy group Box of Frogs are ready to bring their spontaneous sketches to the stage, all based on your suggestions! Finally you can navigate the hilarious world of air travel in Cabin Fever with an unforgettable cast of passengers.
Gripping Drama…
For those who’re after a murder mystery with a twist, come on down to Solve-a-long-a-Murder She Wrote with an interactive screening of the episode ‘A Fashionable Way to Day’. Then it’s time for a classic romance with Far from the Madding Crowd, perfect for fans of Jane Austen and adapted from the book by Thomas Hardy. Finally you can join a hilarious boating holiday in Three Men in a Boat, adapted from the classic comedy novel.
Plus we’ve got some very exciting news at the Albany! We’re putting on Inspire, Engage, Create 2025, a new festival that will see community members participating in a series of free arts workshops this June!
